Why do we get bloated?
Why you are bloated is a very loaded question. I’ve suffered from it for years and still to this day struggle with it. Over the years I’ve found a few remedies that have worked great for me. The main remedy that’s helped the most has been prevention. Making sure I eat a whole food diet and that everything is clean has worked the best. But sometimes you can’t eat clean all the time. So here are some quick fixes that I’ve learned throughout the years that I’m sure can help you too.
Digestive Enzymes
There are so many kinds on the shelf. I’ve taken these papaya enzymes for the last few years and they have helped so much. Most digestive enzymes are supposed to be taken before your meal but I honestly always forget.
If I do happen to remember I’ll take these Zypan or Mary Ruth’s ultra enzymes
Digestive Bitters
These are also supposed to be taken before your meal and are supposed to help prevent the bloat from coming on and for future bloat from other meals. These digestive bitters have worked great for me. The taste of them is strong and bitter (obviously) but you want this because it naturally tells your body to produce more stomach acid so it can break down the food better.
Ginger Lemon Tea
This is really soothing for your stomach and helps the stomach acid break down your food. Taking this nightly as well will help the bloat and your body break down the food.
If these remedies don’t help then there maybe a bigger issue at hand. You might need to do a cleanse or an elimination diet to balance your gut microbiome. Even eating super clean for a few days can do a world of good for your gut.
